EZRA C. ROACH

The patriarch of the Roach Family--Ezra C.--has officially taken his rightful place amongst the Roach kin, which presently include (see picture below L to R):  Malcom, Bobby Ray, Abner, Wilbur (Willie), Herman, and Ezra C.  Like the other family members, Ezra was hand-carved from Basswood using carving knives and chisels.  Fine sanding was done with an electric carver using small cone-shaped sanding disks.  After completing the sanding, I applied a natural stain to give the hands and face a more natural look. I then painted the rest with acrylic paint.  Stay tuned, members yet to be created are: "Beau" the hound dog, Arlo, Benny, Odie, Thelma Lou (the matriarch), and skinny Gertrude (the only daughter).
