The creations above are of a gray squirrel, great horned owl, bunting, bird of paradise, and a burial urn. The squirrel, owl, and bunting are done on bass wood - 6" square - combining burning, carving, and acrylic painting. The bird of paradise is done on a bass wood slab about 12" x 8". The leaves and flower have been highlighted by relief carving, and it was covered with high-gloss polyurethane coating. The urn is made of red cedar wood with a woodburn of mountains and a grizzly bear in the foreground. The lighter highlight bands in the wood are naturally occurring.
