This Arabian stallion was woodburned onto a piece of 5" x 5" piece of Basswood. I drew the outlined image with eyes and nostrils onto the Basswood, then, used a large shader for most of the shading, a medium skew for fine details, and a stylus for portions of the eyes, inner ears, and nostrils. This was competed in just 2-3 hours.
